ok i am for following the rules but there is a gray area i would like to clear up. when responding to question, trying to help other members, it is been common to direct them to other links. i usually follow the Mods on this,but would it be possible to create a list of acceptable links. most apply to dish aiming and fta sats. thanks just want to clear this up and provide the best help i can.

as long as you are not posting links to other fta sites(sites that have the same purpose as this one)or or illegal ones such as drug related or kiddy porn you should be fine,the rule is pretty cut and dry.

No POSTING OF LINKS OR NAMES OF OTHER FTA SITES, YOU WILL BE BANNED.
that is the rule and i threw the illegal thing in there because it just good common sense.
dont post links to any reciever files,because the files are tested before they are put on this site to keep members from ruining their boxes.
just my 1/50th of a dollar

well rule #3 now reads...No POSTING OF LINKS OR NAMES OF OTHER FTA SITES, YOU WILL BE BANNED

this could be just splitting hairs or the wording is what it is.... just want to make sure ....i don't want to go to jail....

i know i'm not alone here i have seen Mods tread lightly around this one, by telling a member the search a site for aiming a dish.
just want the powers that be (and you know who you are) to clear up, for all

you can interperet it as saying no posting of links of other fta sites.i get what your saying,but i believe it refers to fta sites only,cause i have seen links to many different things on this site and i have also posted a few myself.they just dont want you sending any one to a differnet fta site which is understandable.all fta sites have that rule

i agree 100 percent......but in my world words mean things and if thats the case maybe a re wording of the rule is in order. i like the way things are tightening up around here and don't want be the one who breaks the rules because of a misinterpretation. just wanted clarification.

Dishpointer.com and lyngsat.com are fine to post. I think that we just need to use some common sense and make sure the link does not take anyone to an other FTA sites and things will be fine.

I dont subscribe to any other sights and am happy to be here . I have a question. If this sight is as good as you say why not let it stand on it's own merits?. why are you so worried about someone posting the address to another fta sight . let them check out the other sights and if n2 is as good as it perports to be then they will return all the wiser. cyas

if you go to the other sites they have the same rule, maybe if checked some out and read there rules you will see it really why is it such a big deal

There is really no grey area here.
If the site deals with FTA, don't post the link, discuss it, or name the site. This is pretty common sense.

We're not here to promote the competition, we're here to provide a service. This isn't an unusual requirement or rule, it's pretty common on any forum, and in any business.
Please do not PM me directly for support, I know nothing about receivers, I'm merely the local VB guru..
