blackrock instructions

BlackRock 1.52
CP
Hide IP pgm for ***** users
(help info)
(For windows)
Bridge Proxy "BlackRock" for ****

Full credit is given to...ray**** who'd development of "BlackRock" has helped the FTA community. He is not a member of this site but has indicated sharing his knowledge is fine with him...

Your **** is working... Write down all your settings.. If you have issues with Tor/Blackrock you can put those settings back in and "Apply". Back to watching Tv.

Prior to working with Tor/BlackRock make sure your **** is working and that you have a picture on the TV. Server must be UP.

There has been testing done using "Tor" and then "Blackrock" to hide your IP while using the ****.

Tor-- WEB search .....torproject....for more info. Here is a bit:
Tor is free software and an open network that helps you defend against a form of network surveillance that threatens personal freedom and privacy, confidential business activities and relationships, and state security known as traffic analysis.

Tor protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, and it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location. Tor works with many of your existing applications, including web browsers, instant messaging clients, remote login, and other applications based on the TCP protocol.

BlackRock -software bridge between **** and Socks proxy (Tor)

raysmith's information:
Quote:Requirement:
.Net FrameWork 3.5
Router (linksys, etc..)
windows platform.
Socks Proxy (example Tor)

Steps:

1-In you receiver go to Menu...ipconfig and change the server ip to your pc ip address where BlackRock will be running, hit apply and shutdown you receiver. The IP here must be the same as what is indicated when you launch "Blackrock". Toggle Off the rear switch.

2- In your pc, install Tor then ...run your socks proxy (Tor). Take note of the ip address and port that Tor uses to listen for connection. Usually 127.0.0.1 Port 9050... With Tor working you will see a message on the Tor screen something like:
Quote:"Tor has successfully opened a circuit. Working.

3-Lunch BlackRock, in the first section enter the *** server ip address and port (77.93.xx.xx: 1920).

4- In the second section enter your socks proxy "Tor" ip address and port, Tor usually runs on 127.0.0.1 and port 9050.

5- The last section is your pc ip address, and port 1920 (to match the *** server). When you launch Blackrock your IP is usually filled in.

6. As seen in the attachment Socks4 is best used at this time. Save your settings. Check..Auto Start... Last... Start Proxy

7. Toggle on your receiver and after fully booting go to channel 320.

If everything is correct you will see the Channel within about 1 minute.
At this time you can go back to the Tor screen and see the same message over-and-over again.

The message is:
Quote:"Warning Your application (using Socks4 to port 1920) is giving Tor only an IP address. Applications that do DNS resolves themselves may leak information..."

Note: The message means your connected tor and and every thing working. It is just warning that you are not passing domain name hence we are sending ip address of the server not the www.***.com

Receiver Settings... Menu..ipconfig

Setting Type: Static
Local Ip: Same
Local Port: Same (1920- some cases 80)
Subnet: Same
Gateway: Same Whatever you have now
Use DNS: NO
Server IP: What shows in Blackrock- Must be same
Dns IP: Grayed Out- No change
Server Port: Same 1920
Ser# Same
Apply.... Toggle OFF and re-boot is recommended

How do I know it is working?

You changed your settings in the receiver so now your Computer must be ON and both Tor and Blackrock running. If you shut down Tor and Blackrock or turn your computer OFF you will loose your TV picture.

What if I have 2 *****?

Have not tested but the statement is:
Quote:I would like to mention one of the benefit of BlackRock, that if you have family or friend member and they can not setup proxy and do all the routing and PC setup, you can rout their **** traffic to your PC over the internet by opening port 1920 on you router and configure their **** to your IP address, the ISP will only see that they are connecting to you.

That would indicate you could work all your ***** just by putting in the computers IP that is being used to run Tor/Blackrock. I'm thinking if you have a second **** you just make sure when setting up that receiver also has the server ip the same at the other receiver which is the same as Blackrock when you start Blackrock.

Note: **** users are working with this set-up. Know that a Linksys Wrt160N Ver.2 router..wired to the **** works. Also that a Laptop (wireless) using that same router will work.

The key is to make sure the IP shows in "Blackrock" is the same you enter in Server IP .
