I havent had any problems with vista either although i have heard a lot of people do I have a feeling it has to do with keeping your o.s. updated . I have windows 7 on a desktop and i like it there are a few cool new apps. I guess the biggest advantage 7 has is it doesnt eat ram like vista does so it easier on older systems and netbooks .

How true on the applications. User account control can mess u up. Seems like applications are put in wrong place and files corrupted. For just browsing seems OK especially with explorer 8

Vista was not as bad as people made it out to be. The only ones complaining about Vista constantly were the ones that were running slower (< 2gb ram , etc) computers, or those that don't understand where the OS draws the line (ie: blaming Vista because program X doesn't work). I used it for 2 years on a laptop AND a desktop, and it worked just fine.

Is 7 better? Absolutely, but that doesn't mean that Vista was bad, just that 7 was an improvement over Vista. If you have an up to date computer, you can run either, just fine, with no issues.

Please do not PM me directly for support, I know nothing about receivers, I'm merely the local VB guru..

I agree--alot of the problems were because software had not caught up with the operating system. A lot of the features in Vista are a lot easier for me than XP. I have no overall issues with Vista--just checking to see if 7 is an improvement.
