Question Sharing a External Hard Drive

I was wanting to know if you can hook up a usb hub to external hard drive and let 2 pc access it at the same time? Right now i have the ext drive hooked to one pc and have it set to share, the problem is the other pc has to go through our network in order for that to happen, which is slowing it down, our pc's are within 8 feet of each other and didn't know if this would work it looks to me like it would. any input apprecieated!!!

!!!! GO HOGS GO!!!

don't think it will

I don't think you can run a hard drive from two operating systems . Shaing might be the way to go as for the slow speed that would be from using a usb its not as fast as firewire or ethernet.hope this helps
