VPN - Virtual private Networking, an overview


A VPN is a secure, private communication tunnel between `two or more devices across a public network (like the Internet). These VPN devices can be either a computer running VPN software or a special device like a VPN enabled router. It allows your home computer to be connected to your office network or can allow two home computers in different locations to connect to each over the Internet.

To establish a VPN connection you also need a VPN device on the remote end, or you can use the HotBrick Windows VPN Client. With this feature you can access remote servers and services, such as email and applications, with total security. VPN failover is also supported for compatible HotBrick products when 2 WAN connections are available at both ends of the tunnel.
