All channels have now switched to the new Nagra3 encryption which has NOT been opened as of now. We recommend that all members consider testing alternative method's, Such as Nfusion,K-Box,Sonicview an Conaxsat!!

MPEG_4 HD Receiver

I have just changed my configuration to accomodate the HD locals on 61.5 or some satellite in that gyration in the east to get my locals in HD. I no longer get 110 119 and 129 as was the old set up using the Dish 1000. My new dish is pointed east which are getting reflection from 110, 119, 129 and giving me my HD locals.

My old ViewSat Lite, MPEG-2, will no longer pick up and work on this new dish config. The guy installing that told me I would need to get a receiver that supports MPEG-4. I would like to get an HD receiver that supports MPEG-4 so that I can get my PPV's etc.

I subscribe to Dish and pay $150 per month for all the HD channels and America's Best and locals. I have three 622 receivers with DVR capability.

What receiver supports MPEG-4, that broadcasts in HD? Does any of the new HD receivers have DVR built-in?

Any suggestions of which receiver to buy? I believe I read the Nagra3 changeout is being moved to Selptember at earliest! Is this correct?

MPEG-4 Receiver

Big Blade, I am a member, a Lifetime member! Can't remember when I paid, but am registered as DoubleEagle! I presume I joined and paid in December 2007 as indicated on the screen.

MPEG-4 Receiver

Presently my dish is pointed toward 72, 77, 61.5 satellites. These are the satellites my locals beam from. The old configuration was the 110, 119, and the 129 satellites. It was explained to me the old satellites beam to 72, 77 and 61.5 (this is the satellite that beams my locals from Lexington, KY) then to the dish for the actual broadcasting on my TV's. It was called some kind of patch I believe. New dish installed by Dish Network moving from my old Dish 1000 to get my viewing.

The new Dish does not support MPEG-2 only MPEG-4 receivers. Thus my question concerning the receivers available supporting MPEG-4 and whether any receiver comes with DVR or TIVO?
