nano 2 setup

nano 2 setup

step #1
Take the receiver and other items from the box. You should have a receiver, ethernet
adapter, diseqc switch, remote, batteries, a null modem cable, and a set of component
cables. Put the batteries in the remote.
Connect the the receiver to the dish. You may need to use the diseqc switch now. You
should know whether or not you need to.
Connect the receiver to the TV using the component outputs, the RCA outputs, or the
Coax output. If using the component or RCA cables on the receiver, be sure that you
have them connected to the corresponding inputs on the tv.
Plug the ethernet adapter into the RS232 port on the back of the receiver. Connect the
ethernet cable to the adapter to provide access to the internet for using ***. Unlike
other models of CNX receivers, you do not need to power the ethernet adapter,
everything is built into the receiver. Also, the two small lights on the adapter will not
light up. They are not supposed to.
Plug the power cable of the receiver into a wall outlet. Turn the receiver on with the
switch on back. Using the remote, power up the receiver.
You can load files to this receiver two ways. (1) Via USB...recommended or (2) Using a
null modem cable, loader program, and a computer.

step #2
Loading files to the Nano2 via USB

Download and the latest file for the CNX Nano2. Save this file on your computer. Next
you need to go and decompress (extract) the file. Once this is done, you should have a
file in the .NPN format. Send the .NPN file to a USB stick.
Insert the USB stick into the USB port on the front of the Nano2.
On the remote, press MENU. Use the RIGHT ARROW to scroll to the gaming controller
icon. Now use the DOWN ARROW to select USB from the list of files.
Scroll down until you have the file you want to load to the receiver highlighted in yellow.
Press the OK button. It will ask you which format you wish to load the file to the receiver
as. I generally do mine as Bootloader, which is recommended. However, this will reset
the receiver to factory state. Be sure to save your settings and possibly channel list
before doing this.
Wait for the receiver to read the file and flash the file to the memory. The receiver will
reboot after three seconds..wait for it.

step#3
setting up the dish settings

Press menu on the remote. Use the RIGHT ARROW to scroll to the Installations section.
Select DiSeqC switch from the list. You should see listings for Diseqc 1 through 4.
On diseqc 1, press the OK button to open a list of satellites. Select the satellite you wish
to assign to this port.
Under the Satellite name, you should see a group of numbers. This is the recommended
LNB frequency for this satellite. Move down to this number with the DOWN ARROW and
press OK. This is where you select the LNB TYPE that you have. (just a hint...select
DishPro1 for DPP lnbs). After selecting the LNB type for all of your sats, press exit.
NOTE:: You can also go directly to the "SEARCH" button at the bottom of the Diseqc
screen and it will search for the LNB type and satellites you are aimed at.

step #4
Scanning for Channels

You should still be in the installation menu after exiting the Diseqc settings screen. If so,
select Channel Search fro the list. The top option will be satellite....it should be the
satellite that you assigned to Diseqc port 1 earlier. scroll down to the SEARCH button
and select it. Wait for the receiver to finish scanning in the channels for this sat.
Once it is done with that sat and the info is saved, then go back to the top of the
Channel search screen and select the next satellite you wish to scan for channels. Repeat
these steps until you have scanned in channels for each satellite you assigned in the
Diseqc Switch screen.

step#5
Setting up the Network

From the main screen, Press Menu and use the RIGHT ARROW to scroll over to the
Accessory Section. Select Key Works from the list. You should go to A CAS screen.
Here you need to set all of the Autorolls to OFF. Also set the EMU for OFF.
Exit back out.
Next, scroll back to the Installations menu. Select Network form the list. You are now in
the Network Screen.
Highlight and select IP Setup.
From the first spot, I suggest you set the network setting to AUTO. Scroll down and
select Apply. Give it a few seconds. You Network settings should automatically fill in.
Press EXIT.
Scroll down to *** REGISTRATION. Press OK. Give it a few seconds. Hopefully you will
get and OK message followed by a series of numbers. If you do, you should be
connected to the servers. If you get an error, try a gain in a few seconds. Keep trying
until you get an OK message.
Due to a security feature that has been added, after you get the OK message, it still may
take a while to get a picture. If you followed these setup instructions you should be
correctly set up. Let the receiver sit on an *** supported channel, it will eventually come
up.
You should now be able to exit all the way back out and watch *** supported channels.

step#6
Setting other OPTIONS

from the main screen, Press MENU and scroll over to the Options ICON. Here you can set
the time and other options.
