How To Fix Weak Signal
First of all,, There are many other reasons for "weak signal" to test.
Second.. This is just a suggestion for fixing week signal problems in some boxes. Not all boxes have the same problem. And not all boxes will be cured by this. To keep thing's as simple as I can, The key word here is reference. I just want to reference to one box. and one TP. So you can get the gist of this, and you can apply to your own brand of box, or TP's your having trouble with. The Box is CW800 The TP is 8 Freq 12326 / H / 2000 / 7/8 on B*V. and Im going to use channel 520 So here goes.... lately there has been allot of weak signals reported on some channels but not all. And losing channels after a new bin. (for example "All my vertical channels are gone") or ("not getting all my channels when I scan"). So I had to borrow two of my buddies 800's that were having this problem, and lend them mine so I could try stuff...lol. First surprise I gat, was they did the same on my antennas. No change to the way they were acting. So after beating my head off a wall for 8 days now, and searching, and scanning, and testing different stuff....lol This is what happened. I took the first box, (that didn't have all the channels on it. cuz it would not pick them up in a scan) and cloned it with the file out of mine to put all the channels on it. And guess what... All the channels were there now, but they all said weak signal. Go figure. So then I go to a channel that says weak signal.( Im going to use 520 on B*V), and hit; Menu / Installation / Edit Transponder. Then you are all ready on the right TP to edit. Then scroll over to Edit, and hit O.K. That will bring up a small screen that you can change the frequency in. I've played with this.. And the magic number seems to be between 4 and 6. (yours may differ) or (not work at all) With that small screen up,, hit the right numbers on the remote to change the frequency by 4 to 6 For example; TP8 on B*V has a freq. of 12326 I changed that to 12330 and hit O.K. Then exit all the way out till you are watching T.V. And "wallah" there was a picture back on all the channels on that TP. Then go find another channel that says weak, and play some more. Then when your done, and everything is working. SAVE SAVE SAVE. Don't worry about messing things up, cuz until you save them to the box, you will always have the original file from where you started, stored in the box to put it back. If need be..
