im new
Hi i just installed my dish and reciever. I tried several different codes and all i get is the advertisement channels??? What is n3? Did i start doing this to late? I don't want it to be a waste of time.

there are no working files for your receiver right now, hopefully in a month or two the coders will be able to hack the new n3 encryption codes, until then your receiver won't work.

How long do codes normally work? Im just curious.

just use your regular anttenna to get some channels for now...while waiting ...i did

N2 files worked for days to weeks for most all brands, and new files were made in hours to days depending on brands. But that was N2. N3 when it is broken is said to have longer up-times due to the complexity of ECM's but on the same token, N3 will have longer downtimes due to the complexity of fixes. We will all have to wait and see though. Like "Q" says, hook up an OTA antenna and enjoy all the free local tv or get a 30" dish and linear lnb for your captain and enjoy thousands of true fta channels. For a list of those channels go to "lyngsat.com" and search through their pages for fta channels on all the sats you can get.
