I'm running a Solaris with wireless on XP, can be done pretty easily, and was a beginner not to long ago. Do not buy a nova!! Buy a solaris, look up under receiver support and follow the Nfusion setup guide, then find the dial up/ wireless set up guide for XP. Follow both instructions and you will be up and running. If not, post your questions under the Nfusion Support and everyone will help you.

You can use a powerline adapter or hard wire it.
That is up to you. There are tutorials in the NFusion section that explains these things.

All information provided is purely speculation as I do not test. Use the provided information at you own risk.

NFusion ???

OK, I know y'all gettin irriated w/ all these ???. I'm guessin u still have 2 run a line thru your receiver (like a dish 522), connect 2 a NFusion model, then setup??? The NFusion doesn't work as a standalone FTA, right?

OK, last dumb question.
