Potential Viewsat user

If one were to purchase a Viewsat Ultra and used scan to search for satelites and channels, how would you go about makiing it work without a "No audio/Visual" message.

1. wait for a N3 fix (may never happen)

2. Learn how to crack sattelite encryptions (yeah..right)

Seriously though, most of what you will get when you scan sattelites, especially if the programs originate in the US, all you're gonna get is "No Video or Audio" messages because here in the US we don't beleive in "Free TV" and most signals are encrypted. There are a few things to pick up that aren't encrypted, but very few, mostly they are religious networks or foriegn programming which unless you have a major in foriegn languages, really isn't going to do you a whole lotta good. There's a lot of hipe about what you can pick up on True FTA, but I have a motorized system and I can pick up nearly all the possible sats available, and I have done several Blind Scans on all of them and only found about 4 channels that are even remotely worth watching. In short, if you are thinking of buying a VS to watch "Free TV" don't waste your money, it'll be a long time, if ever, that a fix will come out for them. Like everyone else on here will tell you (good advertising by the way), if you want Free TV, you have to buy and NFusion or some other *** type receiver, VS isn't going to get it.
