motorized dish

I'm ready to purchase my motorized system but I'm confused about which LNB I should get. I see three types, which one is the best. 1. circular lnb 2. linear lnb 3. circular linear lnb. the dish is a 31" FTA dish. I just want to make sure I get the right one that will work best when they get a fix.

my setup

here's what I have...it works great, I'm very satisfied with the setup's performance:

LNB:
Invacom QPH-031 quad lnb (2-circular, 2-linear outlets)
This works best, you can view D*shnet/B&v and true fta sats from the same dish.
priced at around $40-$50.
Dish:
36'x39' DMS "Hotdish"
This is the largest dish in it's class, very well made, I bought it for $99....
Motor:
SG6000
heavy duty motor that can withstand 75 mph winds
priced at around $75

I bought all of these from the same vendor. very dependable, great prices, treats customers like real human beings...(can't say enough good things about him).

I was thinking of just getting a complete system, found several under $170, don't wanna go out on a limb here and spend upwards of $300 , I just wanted to know which LNB to use, linear, round or linear round, They offer all three and I just wanted to know which one would work best. I'd like to go with these $300 or more systems but my budget won't allow for it. I'm going with the 31" dish, I know it ain't the best, but it's in my budget range, plus free shipping. All I want to know is which LNB I need to get.

DDD said it, get an invacom quad. This lnb will give you both circular and linear ku band. The only other thing you can get with fta is digital c-band but just stick with the ku band for now. Get a large dish, 31 inch will work if you have a good line of sight to all the sats, and get a motor and invacom quad lnb and a switch to run the lnb and your all set. BG

You can find a lot of motorized deals on fleabay. Just be careful that they don't sell the Invacom LNB as a clone. I just got burned on one of these. Read their feedback and see or better yet, ask if they sell clones. As far as a receiver goes. That is your choise but I sure do like me Phoenix AND the NFusion HD as well. Not hard to set up and very good picture. That would be your choice though.

All information provided is purely speculation as I do not test. Use the provided information at you own risk.

Thanks.. I found a system with the 31" dish and the quad invacom (not clone) lnb and motor on fleabay for $169 + shipping, should be ariving any day now. I hope they aren't too difficult to set up. I'm looking forward to joining the ranks of the true FTA hobbiest out there. I've been looking around at what is found on some of the different sattelites and there really is a lot of interesting things to watch out there, even some movie networks are available to watch and all free of charge. I've even read where some new sattelites are planned to be launched next year. No tellin what might be on those to see. Anyway I may be needing some help from you guys to set this thing up when it comes in, so I'll be in touch.

true fta can be as big is its following. The sales of lnb's and dishes kick starts those ratings and help bring more shows to fta. You will have fun with this part of the hobby. Good luck BG

Beleive me..I'm really looking forward to getting set up. I hate waiting for mail order. Just hope it gets here soon. Kinda boring without TV. I live in an area where only sattelite is available, of course there are the 7 local channels I can get, but just not much variety in those. Plus I need to find some programming for my lovely little wife-to-be since she is chinese and don't understand much english.
