Smile help with new turbo hd dish

We bought a hd 52in lcd tv. So we bought and just recieved our new turbo hd dish with 3 lnbs. And a Viewsatmax hd. Currently we have a dishnet 500. With doul lnbs. We did not need to use a diseqc switch. So we didn't. Now the question: This new dish is suspose to take the place of our 500 dish. Do we have to use the diseqc switch for this new hd dish? Also, we live in Michigan. Anyone no if we keep the dish pointed at the same position that the old dish is pointed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Pug
