Pariza-UkRoNiC`s Boot Loader Flash
Pariza-UkRoNiC`s Boot Loader Flash
Quote: For anyone interested, this boot will work on all the current convert boxes and now the Pariza's aswell. Still in testing phases, and not adviseable to use if you aren't familiar with jtagging your box. This code uses Xmodem for importantfile transfers i.e. (Hyperterminal) Upon opening hyperterm, a new connection needs to be setup with the proper settings for use..(first time always takes the longest) Select the COM port you wish to use, followed by your connection settings (Bps-115200, DataBits-8, Parity-none, Stop bits-1, flow control-none) Once done, hit apply and save your settings or this will have to be repeated upon next use. *NOTE* Xmodem 1k is to be used to send and recieve from box. This is done when you select transfer /send file from the drop down menu. Once the box is connected to your pc important, and hyperterminal is set, turn on the box and the menu will show as follows, notice the single characters begining each line--as these are how you make your selection. *CAPS matters when making a selection.* **Version 1.0**************************** *(A)-To Load BIN(Puff)............(448k)* *(a)-To Load BIN(Pariza)..........(896k)* *(B)-To Load BOOT.................(64k)* *(C)-To Erase all Channel-Data....(still in testing)* *(D)-To DUMP the Flash............(still in testing)* *(E)-To Load (Puff Box) 1Mb Flash.* *(e)-To Load (Pariza Box) 2Mb Flash.* *****************************************UkRoNiC** flashchip_id = 2249 Waiting for user input.. ...........CCCCC There's only about a 10 second window to make a selection before the code runs off on its own (or till the display finishes)... if a selection is made the box will send single 'C's as a way to tell you its waiting and gives about 30 seconds more to select the file you wish to send it, afterwards is pretty self explanitory. I changed the display on the front to show "5897PuFFPuFF5897" as a way to keep things separate and show respect to the guy who got me started in all this, as without him (Jvvh5897), many of us would not be where we are today. A few safeguards have been added to help avoid loading bad/wrong code to improper areas of the flash--far from perfect but its a start, as I can no longer write a bin to my bootcode section. For the Ariza's specifically, this needs to be jtagged into the box UNLESS the box has been converted already to Pariza or 2700 clone, but note also that the box I had to test with had the display mod done to it so the ariza boxes will still have the '8.8.8.8.' on the display unless the mod has been done. If the box has been converted to something 2700 wise, then the boot can be loaded using a 2700 style loader just like any other bootfile, but once the file is in, hyperterminal becomes your new loader at this point. AGAIN if you can't Jtag your box--DO NOT USE THIS FILE, there have been a few instances where the file didn't take first time in the ariza and needed jtag to fix. Source is included for those that like to play, and any feedback would be appreciated, as I'm sure there are more ways to FUBAR a box with this then what I've personally RULES: http://www.n2news.com/board2/forum-rules/23-rules.html
