Hey Everyone,

This is just a quick bit of satellite news for everyone. Looks like VEB has gone down again tonight. Almost all receivers are out and the rest will follow shortly tonight. We expect to have new FTA fixes and autoroll files to fix this ECM by morning.

As for Dish users, satellite TV is still up and running but we are expecting them to be going down shortly as well. Dish always follows closely behind with an ECM. New fixes and autoroll bin files will be released within the next couple of days to fix this problem.

We ask all members to please be patient as we are working extremely hard to get each and everyone of you back up and running as quickly as possible.

If you are in desperate need of watching TV tonight you can enter the latest FTA keys manually and get your local channels back up and going. For some of us this is important, including myself (LOST season premiere is on tonight…. hehe).

We’ve had many people lately inquiring about the soon to come changes in the way TV signals are transmitted. Currently, most cable companies are transmitting their signals in analog. In the next 30 days ALL transmissions will be converted to digital.

Meaning if you own a TV that is not digital compatible you will be required to purchase a seperate box that you will connect to your TV making it possible to receive digital signals.

All of this doesn’t really effect anyone using free to air receivers because FTA is already digital. So, if you own an FTA receiver and you are using it to watch television currently then you don’t need to worry about this AT ALL. FTA satellite TV is already digital and has been from the start.

D*SH Network to Expand HD Line-Up in 2008
100 National HD Channels, 100 HD Local Markets
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Jan. 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) — D*SH Network(r) (Nasdaq*SH) today announced plans to increase its national HD channel count from 76 to 100 in 2008. The company also plans to add local HD channels in 65 new markets, bringing its HD local market total to 100.

“The addition of new HD national and local channels is a testament to D*SH Network’s unwavering focus on providing the best HD offerings,” said Eric Sahl, senior vice president of Programming for D*SH Network. “We at D*SH Network will continue to not only be a leader in the number of HD channels, but also in quality in value.”

D*SH Network plans to launch three satellites in 2008, providing the company additional bandwidth to maintain its reign as a top HD provider.

The company begins its HD launches with 11 local markets including: Austin, TX; Baltimore; Cleveland; Columbia, S.C.; Flint, Mich.; Greenville, S.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; Jackson, Miss.; Knoxville, Tenn.; Orlando, Fla.; and Richmond, Va. The addition of these markets brings D*SH Network’s local HD penetration to 80 percent of U.S. TV households.

In conjunction with the launch of new HD programming, D*SH Network is offering more choices for HD customers, including HD packages as low as $10 per month for more than 20 of the most popular HD channels. New HD packages will be available beginning Feb. 1, 2008.

“D*SH Network’s HD programming packages, paired with the industry’s best HD DVRs, give TV consumers the complete TV viewing experience and another powerful reason to switch to D*SH Network — if they haven’t already,” Sahl said.
